Street Hockey Equipment

Americans love their street hockey - almost as much as Canadians. The call? Sport can play on any street, open field, or even an alleyway with old equipment and custom rules.

For equipment used in regulation hockey and is played on the weather. On ice, a puck, which is made of hard, vulcanized rubber is used. On the sidewalk, is a sphere molded plastic replaced. Either can be purchased cheaply at local sporting goods stores. The hockey stick, which is available for about $ 30, are made of wood covered with fiberglass and has a flat bottom to maneuver the puck or the ball.

Meta-nets used in street hockey are the steel frames and nylon nets and are priced around $ 300.

From street hockey is a game of neighborhood, no absolute rules in the arts of the players or safety clothing. Boots or skates are generally worn accordingly. Players will wear shirts with shorts or loose pants and socks. Elbow pads, knee pads and shin pads are used for protection. Mouth guards, gloves and wrist straps are recommended for athlete safety.

The goalkeeper has the most need of protection. A helmet with a wire cage, with a breastplate with shoulder guards attached. Elbow and wrist guards and back guards, leg pads equipped with shin guards and calves, and even protective of the ankle and heel complete the uniform.

Of course, players can not use Street all the safety equipment recommended - but then they play their own rules, which are likely to be much more flexible in the district.
